Since being named one of the "10 Artists to Watch in 2005" by Rolling Stone magazine, Brandi Carlile and her band have been mainly on the road headlining their own shows and supporting a variety of artists including Ray LaMontagne, The Fray, Chris Isaak, Tori Amos, and Shawn Colvin. Three of her songs were showcased on the ABC hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," and her song "The Story" was featured on the General Motors ad aired during the Beijing Olympics. The intensity and authenticity of her music caught the attention of Grammy-Award winning producer T-Bone Burnett, who produced her new album - The Story. On this new album, Brandi opens up her heart, soul, and psyche in a series of memorable songs that invite you into her world.

Morgan Melekos - Friday, February 13, 2009
I met Brandi Carlile once after a show at a small venue in Napa, CA. She is approachable and warm, posing with idolizing little girls for photos and signing autographs without annoyance. More to the point, though, Carlile is a natural musical genius, deft on an accoustic fretboard, not afraid to rock a hard-driving chord progression on her Gretsch Hollowbody electric ax, and endowed with an effortlessly octave-hopping voice that can jump from sweet and angelic like Allison Kraus to raw and enraged with wounded passion like Pat Benetar in an instant. Her themes often place her in a role of Bard of Broken Hearts, and she posseses a mastery of the poignant that can make first-time listeners tear up in broad daylight in public. Despite her arresting physical beauty, Brandi is one female singer-songwriter success story who richly deserves her emerging fame on the merits of talent alone.
