DR. JOHN and THE NEVILLE BROTHERS |

Saturday, August 29, 2009
5:30 pm | Suicide Six, South Pomfret, Vermont
Summertime is THE time to let the good times roll! The heart and soul of New Orleans, The Neville Brothers define the deep musical spirit of the city with a heart-stopping blend of blues-soaked grooves, funk, social commentary, and pure joy. Arthur, Charles, Aaron and Cyril, have had successful careers as solo performers in addition to their membership in the group that bears their family name. The bedrock of the Nevilles' "euphoric vocal harmonies" (New York Times), Aaron Neville's angelic voice won him four Grammys and Rolling Stone's "Best Male Singer" title two years in a row.
New Orleans' super-charismatic multiple Grammy-winning keyboard/vocal legend Dr. John the Night Tripper creates his own unique blend of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock and Creole roots, starting out with Professor Longhair and going on to record with Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger and more. Celebrate the height of summer and the culmination of our Summer @ Six Series with two legendary artists.
Tickets: $35 general admission lawn seating ($20 children 12 & under); $50 reserved seating; $70 director's circle reserved seating and BBQ dinner

Wonderful show. The rain held off until near the end, and the crowd didn't miss a beat. This was our first SSix concert, and we will be back next year for sure. Great food, spirits, facilities. Very comfortable tailgate and picnic scene. Dr. John represents, well he just represents ya'll. Thanks Pentangle.
