Equally at home on the concert stage or at a Folk festival, Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster is one of the most versatile and exciting young musicians on both the Folk music and Celtic music scenes. MacMaster's many projects have seen her collaborate and perform with Alison Krauss, the Chieftains, Paul Simon, and Pavarotti.
Natalie's live performances are a testament to her incandescent musicianship and boundless energy featuring foot-tapping rave-ups, heart-rendering ballads, and world-class step dancing. MacMaster is equally adept at setting the house on fire with her exceptional band as she is at hypnotizing a crowd while alone in the footlights. Natalie's fiddling fireworks on traditional and contemporary Celtic melodies generate a kind of "Traditional Fusion" delivered with ferocious energy felt by the musicians and audience alike.

Great Big Sea
Great Big Sea, the St. John's-based, Juno-nominated band that fuses Newfoundland traditional music with modern pop in a crowd-pleasing formula both heartfelt and vital. A pure force of nature much like the ocean surge they take their name from Great Big Sea's blend of instruments like mandolin, bodhran, fiddle, and concertina, along with their vocal harmonies, revels in the melodies they create and the Newfoundland tunes they love. "We are showmen and we live and die by our trade," offers electrified lead singer Alan Doyle. "I am drawn to the light and I was born to burn." Born and raised in "the far east of the western world," the lads have traversed the globe, all the while wearing their hometown on their sleeves. "Our music is of Newfoundland," explains McCann. "It would be impossible to do what we do if we were from anywhere else. Our songs come from the sea and the cliffs and the rocks and all the other natural beauties our country provides. Without her we simply couldn't exist."
Great Big Sea fans have been responding since their self-titled debut in 1993, drawn to the light of incendiary live shows that have become the stuff of legend. All of their albums have gone gold, and most are multi-platinum.
