7:30 pm | Woodstock Town Hall Theater
Remember the last time a Tony Award-winning show featuring its entire original Broadway cast performed at Woodstock Town Hall Theater? Me neither. That's because it hasn't happened (at least not yet)... and why you won't want to miss Jay Johnson's hilarious and touching masterpiece about finding your voice and following your dreams. In his 30 plus-year career, Jay Johnson has delighted audiences with his unique blend of charm, anarchy and innovative wit. Best known for playing the schizophrenic role of Chuck and Bob on the groundbreaking television comedy, Soup, Johnson is widely regarded as one of the world's great living ventriloquists. In Jay Johnson: The Two and Only! he deconstructs and demonstrates his lifelong obsession, aided by a "cast" that includes 'Bob,' 'Amigo,' 'Darwin,' 'Long John La Feat,' 'Nethernore-the bird of Death,' 'Spaulding,' 'Arthur Drew,' 'Jackie and GaGa,' and 'Squeaky.' Jay Johnson: The Two and Only! opened on September 28, 2006 at the Helen Hayes Theater and quickly became the most talked about show of the season. Time Out called it "a rare and hilarious treat," while the Associated Press said it was "splendid, hilarious, giddy entertainment."
