Children's Voices

Friday, April 08, 2011
9:30am, 12:30pm | Woodstock Town Hall Theater

Co-founders Michael Zerphy and Marv Klassen-Landis weave together themes of trusting one's inner voice, overcoming fear, and getting started when students say, "I don't know what to write." K-6 audiences double over laughing during "Wacky Monkeys" and during "The Dentist" a hilarious sketch reminiscent of the golden age of silent movies. "Tiger" moves through emotions of awe, fear and empowerment. Combining rhyme, mime and a magical machine that always backfires, "I Made a Machine" evokes cheers and laughter.

Children's Voices Theater is a local month long in-school residency running March 7 through April 8, culminating in performances incorporating student writing featuring acting, mime, physical comedy, and plenty of audience participation.

Grades K-3 performance at 9:30 and Grades 4-6 at 12:30pm

Thanks to the generous support of businesses, foundations, and local residents Pentangle continues to offer in-school artist residency and affordable student, teacher, or chaperone tickets to attend Arts in Education productions at the Town Hall Theater. Pentangle's Arts in Education Program is named in memory of Dana Emmons, to remember Dana's loving and generous spirit as we dedicate ourselves to creating accessible and meaningful arts education for our younger audiences.
